I have been very unhappy with my deep laugh lines for a few years, now. I am only 30 and have especially noticeable laugh line wrinkles in my skin. I've noticed that most other women my age do not have such deep grooves, if any. I went to my dermatologist and had Collagen injections in hopes of some relief from this flaw. I went in two weeks preceding the treatment for testing to see if I was allergic to the animal Collagen, which I was not. The actual treatment was not that bad. It took about 45 minutes total. 30 minutes was spent with numbing cream on my face, then the rest of the time was spent with a needle injecting the collagen underneath my skin. I was pleased with the results! I was told not to smile or make any drastic facial expressions for the rest of the day, so the collagen would not move. All that was required upon going home was applying some ice in a towel to the treated areas. There was only discomfort while the needle penetrated the skin, feeling like a pin prick. After about a month, my laugh lines were back in full force. It was too costly a procedure to have done once a month. I was told the results should last 4-6 months. I was and still am extremely disappointed.

Conclusions
I would have continued to have this procedure done if it were only 3 times a year.
