Skin Care Review: Fraxel Laser
Smoother, more even-colored skin over time
Unsightly skin for at least a week. Very expensive.
I had four Fraxel treatments done early last year - the last one done about six months ago - for hyperpigmentation, slight wrinkling, and old acne scars. For any real benefit, the laser must be set to a high enough setting so that you really can't tolerate it without numbing cream. Also, my face appeared quite discolored and burned for about a week - it did not return completely to normal for about two weeks. After my face healed, I noticed an improvement. HOWEVER, I want to emphasize that Fraxel provides a delayed benefit, so that you really can't see much of the results for several months. I write this because it has been recently that I have really noticed how much my skin has continued to improve and this is what I was told at the time I had it done. This is definitely must-know information before having this treatment done. I am thinking of having the ablative Fraxel done soon for even more dramatic results.
I would highly recommend this for someone with problematic skin.
