Skin Care Review: Laserscope Aura KTP laser for broken capillaries

by Sara Kahn, New York, NY USA

Two months ago, I had one treatment with the Aura KTP laser (wavelength: 532nm) to eliminate very few broken capillaries around and on my nose and right cheek. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I am a 28-year old female, and had very smooth skin before the procedure. Now I have indentations (like a circular row of chicken pox or acne scars) around my nose; skin atrophy around the indented areas; crinkly skin texture; a puffy right cheek; and circular lines on my face. I also have slight hyperpigmentation around the nose and slight hypopigmenation on the right cheek. Finally, my nose has become thicker in some areas on the right side because, strangely enough, in just one treatment the laser stimulated a lot of collagen production there. Not a minute goes by that I don't regret my decision. Please stay clear of lasers!
