I purchased this product to lighten scars on my abdomen from surgery. I chose it over what seemed like more aggressive treatments like scar lotions, because I have sensitive, fair skin that I didn't want to experience side effects or irritation from. The Bio-oil worked well at reducing the color of my scars, but I did have to use it religiously twice a day for several weeks to notice any difference. If you are willing to apply it consistently, I believe it can make some difference. The scars I had were only 1 inch long and rather small incisions, so I am not sure how well it would work on deeper larger scars. I also tried it on my face to see if it would work on acne scars, but it ended up causing some acne so I decided to discontinue use on my face. If it didn't cause acne on my skin, I would have used it consistently and believe it would have lightened the acne scars.

Conclusions
Works well on body scars, but not recommended for face
