Skin Care Review: Paula's Choice slip into silk body lotion with antioxidants

by SCollins

Adverse Effects

The product goes on easily, but that's where the benefits end.

Increases dryness. Skin may also develop a tendency to flake after repeated use.

Described as an innovative formula that combines skin-smoothing, hydrating ingredients, and an array of plant & vitamin-based antioxidants for hydration and protection. A very disappointing formula especially at the price. One would expect far more from the person dubbed as the 'beauty cop'. While the lotion applies smoothly as per it's name, the moisturizing effects are extremely short lived. Within hours skin becomes dry and flaky, and within days the dryness is such that skin actually cracks. I've never experienced these adverse effects even with much inferior products. For someone reaching middle age and experiencing increasing concerns with a typical combination, but fair skin, it's increasingly difficult to find a product that is not too greasy, but still provides the necessary moisture. One has to question the validity of the claims this product makes, when it so clearly does not perform to the task. It seems almost irrelevant to mention at this point that the packaging too is inferior. Product is difficult to dispense, unless you spend the extra $3 for a pump, and the plastic is easily punctured or damaged. This would be a concern if the product is not being shipped with the purchase of other items and therefore suitably packed.

Does not perform as described. Not suitable for all skin types.
