I am 50 years old, have red hair turning gray, and have skin that is fairly dry and beginning to show wrinkles. I had heard that petroleum jelly gives improved skin moisture and reduces wrinkles. The advantage is that it is very inexpensive, so if the product works at all this would provide a much more affordable long term cosmetic skin treatment than the more expensive custom type formulas. While the results were noticeable, there were drawbacks - mainly because this type of product apparently does not absorb well into the skin but just stays on it. I used it every night for about a month, by spreading about half a table spoon full of the jelly onto my face and neck. I did notice my skin becomming more smooth and soft. But the jelly just didn't "work" its way into the skin. So my pillows all got greasy. Also, there is no fragrance in the product, so the odor of petroleum jelly became a fairly unwelcome experience, to say the least.

Conclusions
There must be a better way.
