My hair is slightly wavy, even more at the ends, which are dry and tend to split. It is virtually impossible to brush my hair without hearing that sound of breaking ends. I started using a tiny amount of pure natural oil, or a leave-in treatment exactly on my ends (1 inch from the end, no higher) every time before brushing. That way my hair can be detangled smooth without breakage. I put some oil after I wash my hair, when it is already dry, and every day until the next wash. I was surprised that my hair wasn't weighed down or greasy at all, and didn't need more frequent washing. Smooth brushing means less split ends and healthier hair.
