Skin Care Tip: How to apply sunscreen correctly

submitted by Lisa S., Rochester, NY US

When applying a sunscreen product to the face, make sure it is the layer closest to the skin. Also, sunscreen protection is buildable, that is, a moisturizer with SPF 15 and a foundation with SPF 15 should give protection up to SPF 30. My personal program consists of Mary Kay's day solution (SPF 15), which is very light and spreads evenly over the entire face. It is important to use foundation and moisturizer on the face to protect delicate skin from the elements and UVA/UVB rays, whether you need to even out skin tone or not.
