Skin Care Tip: Aging hands

submitted by Clara Richmond, Dublin, Ireland

Apply SPF or use a hand cream with a built in SPF to your hands, particularly to the backs of your hands while driving, walking, or doing any outdoor activities. This will help to prevent age spots and aging of the skin on the hands. This routine should be followed throughout all seasons of the year and not just in the summer months when it is noticeably sunny outside! UV rays, which are the number one cause of aging to the skin, continue to penetrate all year long and penetrate through clouds too. It does not have to be hot or sunny for UV rays to damage skin.

The hands are often neglected in our daily skin care routine. By applying SPF to your hands on a daily basis, this helps prevent age spots and can slow down the aging process
