Skin Care Tip: Sunscreens with Mexoryl

submitted by Lisa, CT USA

The FDA in the United States has recently approved the sunscreen ingredient Mexoryl for use in sunscreens sold in the US. I have been using products with Mexoryl, purchased abroad, for about two years now. Mexoryl is a key ingredient because it effectively blocks UVA rays, which often do not cause burning but which do cause wrinkles, spots, and aging of the skin. UVA rays are not blocked by windows. Every morning, I apply Anthelios over moisturizer and then apply makeup. On days when I will be outdoors I re-apply it regularly. The lotion spreads easily. It can look a bit greasy, so I use a light powder to bring down the shine. Now that Anthelios is available in the US, I highly recommend looking for it, or for the ingredient Mexoryl in any sunscreen

After using Anthelios sunscreen every day, regardles of the weather, for two years, my skin seems much more clear. Sunspots from years of tanning have faded and there is no new discoloration.
