Homemade Skin Care Recipe: Aspirin Salicylic Acid Scrub

submitted by Linda Marrder, Houston, TX 77006

Tip description / details:
Aspirin is a form of salicylic acid which is used in many skin clearing and exfoliating products. What it does really well is clear pores.

Ingredients:
Plain uncoated aspirin. Use the cheapest store brand plain, uncoated or microcoated, aspirin in jumbo economy bottles.

How to prepare:
Dissolve half dozen or more in a small cup with enough water to cover them.

How to use:
Then apply to skin and use as a gentle scrub in the shower several times per week. I do my whole upper body and parts of my face.

Results (observed by submitter):
Clears pores, eliminates blackheads and greatly reduces acne. And makes your skin really soft and smooth. Note that it can be drying and it seems to aggravate my Rosecea a little so I rarely use it on my cheeks. I use it nearly everyday on my upper body, and several times per week on the problem areas on my face: nose, forehead and jawline.

Costs involved:
Pennies
