Homemade Skin Care Recipe: Skin Exfoliaton

submitted by Kim Paul, Estero, FL united states

Tip description / details:
I credit my grandma for this skin tip, and apparently it was quite common in her day. Mix course salt (Kosher salt works well) with olive oil and use it after a warm shower. Rub down your entire body. The salt is both healing to your skin and an excellent exfoliant. The olive oil penetrates better due to the warmth of the shower. Rinse, and I think you will be pleased with how silky soft your skin will become.

Ingredients:
Kosher salt, olive oil

How to prepare:
Just mix the salt and olive oil together until it forms a thick paste.

How to use:
Rub the paste over your entire body while still warm and still inside the shower. The rubbing you do is what will exfoliate your skin. Rinse in shower.

Results (observed by submitter):
My skin always feels great after I do this - much softer than if I had just moisturized with lotion.

Costs involved:
a few dollars
