Homemade Skin Care Recipe: Mask pack for lightening scars

submitted by Asma, Edinburgh, Scotland

Tip description / details:
This mask is for lightening scars anywhere on the body. Although it may not replace the use of topical creams/ skin procedures, it is a cheap way of improving discolouration.

Ingredients:
semi-skimmed milk/organic semi skimmed milk, lime juice, gram flour, rosewater

How to prepare:
Mix 1 and a half table spoon of gram flour, 1 table spoon of semi-skimmed milk and a few drops of lime juice and 1 teaspoon of rosewater in a bowl. Mix until mixture has a smooth consistency

How to use:
Once mixture has a consistency of a skin mask apply a thin layer on the scar. If layer is too thin apply a second layer. Leave on for 30 minutes. Then wash off with tepid water. Do no use soap or any wash on the area until an hour after or nutrients may get washed away

Results (observed by submitter):
Used this mask 3/4 days every week for a few months. Scar gradually got lighter. This is not a quick fix - u need to be patient as this is a home remedy.

Costs involved:
